Building Climate-Resilient Ageing Communities
Sustainability and STEM Advocacy
As a National Student Representative with Atal Innovation Mission (Indian Government's flagship innovation program) Nikhil contributed to initiatives that expand equitable access to STEM infrastructure, enabling 10,000+ schools to adopt innovation as a tool for solving real-world environmental challenges. At the national launch of ATL Sarthi, I addressed over 700 stakeholders on the importance of building grassroots, sustainability-driven innovation ecosystems.
As a Rise Global Winner, I delivered a sustainability-focused talk at University of Oxford, engaging with an international community of young leaders on the role of engineering and inclusive innovation in addressing climate challenges.
Through engagements with UNICEF, I advocate for climate solutions that are not only technologically advanced, but inclusive, accessible, and grounded in everyday realities—ensuring sustainability efforts translate into meaningful, widespread impact.
Impact:
-
Sustainability-focused outreach across 10,000+ schools
-
Climate advocacy at national and global platforms
-
Promoting inclusive, scalable environmental innovation

Met with Mr. Abhishek Ranjan from the Atal Innovation Mission to discuss the integration of dedicated sustainability modules into the national STEM curriculum across 10,000+ Atal Tinkering Labs (ATLs). In my capacity as a student advisor, I contributed to discussions on embedding climate-focused design thinking, resource-efficiency frameworks, and circular economy principles into hands-on learning environments. The conversation also explored scalable curriculum models that incorporate real-world problem-solving in areas such as water conservation, energy optimisation, and sustainable systems engineering, enabling students to build context-driven, environmentally responsible innovations.
